    time to decide on phone

I need some advise on purchasing new phone with bluetooth to go with my new STS. Any suggestions. I hear positives about the Treo, and some positives on the Razr. Please advise, pluses and minuses of each.
    Thanks, Johnny K

I have a Motorola that works just fine in a new GS430. Plays right through the car's stereo as advertized.

I hate the Moto Razr!! I have owned it for 8 months and I keep getting replacements (6) from Cingular. Get another phone and save yourself alot of trouble.
I would say the Razr phones look cool.

Re: time to decide on phone

    It really varies:
    For Moto I have tried the V600, V660, V710, 270C, E815 & Rzr V3c.

The V710 will not connect at all. All the others connect fine with good signal strength but all also have an issue where the vehicle audio will not always mute on answering an incoming call. Outbound calls all work fine.

The Rzr seems to be the best of the bunch and is what I currently use although I still have the E815 and V710 as well.

I have tried various others including a Trio 650 & Trio 700w which also had the same issues.

Caddy of course claims it is the signaling from the phones that is the issue but after 4 manufacturers and over 12 phones I am a bit skeptical...

Do a search on Bluetooth and you will find some that have similar probs with Moto and others that say theirs are working fine.

Good luck with whatever you end up with!

I use a Nextel Blackberry 7520 and the Bluetooth feature worked perfectly AFTER I upgraded the firmware in the phone. Before that, I always got very loud feedback with every call. Read about that on other threads and forums.

Cannot get my Cingular Treo 650 to work well with car, although it did work better with earlier car kit SW version. Scuttlebut is that Sprint Treo 650s may work better with more cars than Cingular 650s. Cingular/Palm website explicitly do not list Cadillac as an interoperable car it.

Bottom Line: Treo interoperability may depend on core phone service company ---- Verixzon, Cingular, Sprint, ...

I also like SkiBanker use a Blackberry 7520 and it works very well. This was also after the advice I took to update my Firmaware.

The new Blackberry should contain the updated version already.

    Good Luck

I love using my Treo in the car. With a flexibar and cradle its really driver friendly since it has a keyboard. check out pics....
