06 STS 3.6L - How do I UNPLUG driver side stage one O2 sensor connector

What a royal pain - O2 sensor is connectorized behind the engine block. I've got it unmounted but can't figure out how to de-mate the connectors. I know this aint rocket science but I cant see any obvious clips or hasps. Has anyone accomplished this?

Wouldn't the replacement serve as an example?

Good luck. I fought and fought and grew ever more embaressed and frustrated until I cut wires and reconnected complete with heat shrink after job was finished never unplugging sensor.
