    Unhappy No start no crank

I have a 2005 Cadillac STS with a v6 keyless entry it will not start or crank with the remote or the starter button on the dash .I hit the start button and everything goes black for 20 seconds then the hole dash comes back ON. I pulled the starter button out of the dash to check for voltage at the back side of the button there are ten wires plugged in to it a light/blue with a white strip it had 13.5 battery voltage I pushed the starter button and the voltage dropped to 4.75 at the light/blue wires and 4.75 on the output side. The Light/Blue with White strip wire to the starter button can anybody tell me what voltage is at the starter switch and where that wire gets its power from. I need help thanks

Almost certainly a bad battery. Quite common with these cars.

Yes. My car battery was working great all summer. Then I noticed the cranking was getting slower. My car sat in my garage for 7 days and it was dead. New battery fixed it!

If you don't want to believe it's a bad battery yet, put your volt meter on the battery terminals while someone tries to start it and see how low the voltage drops.

AC Delco batteries have been rumored often to hold a great 'surface charge' ... meaning that it looks full until you try to start it and when you press the button to start it drops to the floor.

A failing battery can look good when not stressed. These cars stress batteries regularly.

It's also possible that you have a bad ground from the back of the engine to the battery. That guy wiggled loose on me, and i had exactly the same symptoms.

If the dash is going black, that means the ECU is attempting to start the car, which means the button is working fine. You've got something else going on further down the chain. Either a bad ground, a bad battery, a bad starter, or a bad starter solenoid. You could also have a bad starter relay. I'd start at the relay and then work from there with a meter and see where you're losing power.
