Help: Passenger Front Door Won't Open

Hey guys, it's been a while but the good news it's also been a while since I needed any kinda help, haha.

So, the passenger side front door on my '05 STS won't open from the outside anymore. It started where it wouldn't unlock itself when you pulled on it, (the antenna) and now it won't open at all even with the doors unlocked. If I want that door opened I now have to reach over the console and pop it with the interior handle. Anyone have any idea why this is? I'm planning to pop the panel off and just wanted to know what I should look for. I work for a Cadillac dealer so I have access to parts pretty easily and inexpensively. Thanks for the help......

It apparently decided it wants to work again. I guess it really doesn't like the cold, I'm not sure. Let's see how long it wants to keep working before I'm forced to crack the door open.....

I think you should order a set of mirco switches. Then read up on how to replace the switches. Or you could let the stealer ship take your money. Danny

Contact cleaner might keep them working 'til then.

Re: Help: Passenger Front Door Won't Open

Mine is going in for another new handle on the front passenger door Monday. This will be the second while I've owned the car in addition to one on the left.

My most recent experience was very intermittent as well but it didn't always occur only when it was cold. For about three weeks it failed every time. When I took it to the dealer, it worked every time! Kind of like the pain that goes away while you're sitting in the doctor's waiting room :-/ It finally acted up again while it was in the shop for something else.
