    Hit a deer!

Looks like I will be visiting a body shop. Hit the right front hard. New hood, grill, trim, fender, headlight assembly, bumper... Mondays suck!

That's horrible. Sorry to hear about the bad luck. BTW, that's considered the left front.

Bummer, but on the bright side - it could be much worse. Such low front car like the STS can pick up the deer and send it right through your windshield...

I wonder - did the airbag employ?

Yes it is. My mistake. It is always from the driver seat. No air bag deployment.

Don't try hitting a moose. The result is usually the roof peeled off your car and 1000lbs. of blood and guts in the front seat.

Even after a good hunt, we've got far more than a million here in Wisconsin. It's when you hit one here, not if.

If it wasn't for the deer, car insurance would be far less.

Wow! Sorry to see that. The car can be fixed. The good news is you are ok.

Just got an estimate. $6500 to fix. Lucky me, my deductible is only $250! I was joking with the guy doing the estimate about a STS-V hood and such on my car and to my amazement they have done that before! I feel good that that body shop has experience with the STS.

    Re: Hit a deer!

Let us know how the repairs turn out! Sounds like you got a decent shop doing the work, hope they treat you right!

I was fortunate enough to only hit a bambi in my 2001 STS a few years back, just took out the passenger side headlight. That bitch went SAILING about 150 feet! I looked for it as I really wanted to kick its face in but I couldn't find it, the car probably did enough damage to it anyway.

Glad you're OK though, could've been a lot worse.

I'll post pics of the repair. My boss recommended the body shop. He had been using them for 30 years. I have seen there work on repairs to our fleet. I am glad that I am OK.. one good thing is that no metal was pushed into my tire. Those are brand new Blizzaks! Funny thing is, I was thinking about replacing my grill and hood trim....

My baby goes in for her cosmetic surgery Monday Feb 3rd. I'll be without her for over a week. I'm sure the rental that insurance is paying for is not going to be as nice. I hope I'm not getting a tiny econobox!

Should have done a convertible conversion. Could have been cheaper.
