What Oil filter should we be using?
Brand, model, price, who normally carries it...
if that is well know perhaps those of us that have dealers / shops that allow us to provide our own parts will be able to start using them.

Oh I'm sorry. I must of been mistaken when you came here searching for help with YOUR problem and provided us zero assistance in helping you fix it. Won't make that mistake again.

    Well theres your problem.

People who care about their cars don't go to jiffy lube. I suggest you stop worrying if that's who you let service your car.

Luda I took apart a 61 and 61e delco. Both had PLASTIC cores. Ill never run a delco again. I too have the VVT chatter on my 05 and fathers 07. His is far worse than mine as he runs regular against my constant bitter nagging against it. Also I found running Mobil 1, wix, k&n etc anything with an anti drain back valve built into the filter not only helps better with cold start up protection but also quieted down the initial noise on start up.

You know as long as I've done this forum you always have some smart s*** to say I don't know what the hell you're damn problem is a who the hell you think you are. Your smart ass remarks are not needed. Jack ass. Everyone else leaves their comments and suggestions without any sarcasm or attitude but not you. You act as if your Mr. Cadillac and we all must bow down to you. Ok you have good knowledge on some subjects but being an ******* is not needed.

Honestly there was zero sarcasm in my original statement you saw what you wanted in it. Your arrogant comment towards me after you neglected to answer my question brought out the quips. You chose to bitch about your car and not help us help you yet you expect by the grace of God the answers can come to us in a vision so we can help you. So now I'll take the stance you think I've been goving you all along...

By all means continue to do what you want heck you can your car into the ground cuz if you don't jiffy lube will sure do it for you. I will bet they didn't use synthetic even I they clam they did and they charged you and you likely have a junk filter without the drain back valve on it.

And FYI the original clanking on the dry start up sounds like a 3.6 about to throw timing chains.

    Enjoy!

I take all my cars to the local JiffyLube and they always do a first class job. I keep a close eye on them and have never seen anything but professionalism. I managed an aircraft engine overhaul facility for many years and I know what professionalism looks like. I'm not claiming that all JiffyLubes are the same but I'm favorably impressed by at least one.
