So now that I have mine, I have my buddy jumping on the band-wagon and wanting a 1SG. Can you guys help me out with this one, is this car a 1SG or 1SF?

No way to tell without looking at RPOS. It's either a loaded 1SF with acc or a loaded 1SG.

The only thing that sets a F and G apart once they are optioned up is GS got the Vs ZF steering ratio and heavy duty cooling package.

Ok, so the dealer has no clue about the options. Where is the tag again in the trunk?

    ----------

...This guy has a supercharged Miata and a Mazdaspeed6. He's probably gonna want the 1SG.

Gotcha, He's looking into it now... Thanks.

    ----------

This car appears to have the 18" wheels on it... 1SF's are all 17" correct? Or is the 18" wheels optional on that?

My 1SF has factory 18's and the heavy duty cooling option, no ZF steering though.

18s were optional on 1sf standard on 1sg

I thought the cooling was only 1sg but appears I am wrong. I do know ZF is ONLY 1sg.

So either this is a 1SF like curtc's loaded up or it's a 1sg... still waiting to hear back. I think he gave up on me.

I hope I'm right in that I have that option, I have RPO V09. I see a large fan right in front of the engine and then 2 electric fans on the outside of the radiator.

Here's another possibility. It's a little older but in pretty good shape. It has the accessory tails too.

This one is definitely a 1SG. DROOL. But too far away. Looking locally only for now.

The 1SF has heavy duty cooling, but the 1SG adds a second water pump to the mix.

Yes, the vehicle in your original post is a 1SG (based on the VIN they posted in the ad and the build sheet associated with that VIN).

I'm not sure how the RPO's may vary from one model year to another, but I have RPO "V03 - Performance Cooling Package". I also have one large fan in front of the engine along with two electric fans on the outside of the radiator. My car is a 1SG. In some documents, GM calls V03 "Performance Cooling Package" and in others it is called "Cooling System - Extra Capacity".

The V03 Performance cooling package adds the second water pump...the V09 has the engine driven fan plus the electric fans but lacks the second water pump. The 1SF has the V09 and the 1SG has the V03.

Wow nice. Has the good brakes too.

And if that was in fact the one you were looking at, based on the price, STS platinums are in your price range.
