    Neutrocuted, To test the trunk switch, unplug it at the switch. Test with a ohm meter while pressing the button. Then take a short wire and touch the end of plug wire ( paper clip ) this should bypass the switch. This will show what not working. Danny

    Actually, the old switch works but I bought a new switch (like I said before) under the assumption that it had to be the switch because both the inside button and the remote buttons work and open the trunk. Just the outside button didn't work. That's why I want to know if the RIM controls the actual opening of the the release solenoid.
