    Fog light projector color?

So, after an unfortunate run-in with a Ford, my 08 1SG STS had a trip to the body shop. Among the bits replaced, all OEM, was the right turn/fog light assembly. I just noticed that the projector on the new one has a blue tint while the original left one is clear. Anyone know whether this was a running change or there are two different parts? Build of my car is August 07 if I recall correctly. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Fog light projector color?

As far as I've seen, all Cadillacs have a bluish/purplish hue to the projector. It's on CTS, STS, ATS, DTS haven't paid attention to xts/escalade. Are you saying the other foglight projector that you didn't have to replace doesn't have the same color to it?

I know my 07 STS had it and my current car has it. That's before and after your car. Granted, the v has a different fog light assembly.

Yeah i think it's just an appearance thing that Cadillac does to its projectors. Probably doesn't really affect light output. Maybe slightly.

You were right. Old one does have the same color, just not as noticeable head-on depending on the viewing angle. Zero difference in light output between the two.

Now - unrelated - I don't suppose anyone has the part number for the rubber trim that surrounds the headlamp? It's two separate pieces and the strip between the headlamp and front fascia is missing. Probably should have come with the lamp assembly since I can't find it as an individual item on any parts diagram.

There are some threads on rebuilding the assemblies; not brain surgery but whose oven is in your flat?
