    Question Radar Detector Installation

Can anyone tell me how to get at the wiring in the overhead console to get power for a radar detector. It looks like you just pry it open but I don't have the nerve without someone telling me that is correct.

In the past, I have always had a telephone istalled and had the radar detector done by the telephone installer. With the "blue tooth" it was not necessary to install a phone.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You could use the cigarette lighter (Radio Shack sells the connecting cords), if not, there's got to be a tappable 12 volt source near the two front ceiling lights. I had tapped into these in a 525 BMW, and it took some guts but didn't damage anything. Post your experience.
