    Re: Tires...

I'm currently leaning towards the Conti's DWS, but since I'm not in immediate need (of tires), I'm going to give the new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S-3 a look when they come out this summer (early reviews say they are at the top of the heap) but being Michelins they'll probably be pricey.

    One of life's ironies...

Excepting commodities, at the top of a price range small improvements in quality often command a lot higher price. At the bottom, saving just a few bucks can take you from a fair value to junk. Do your homework.

    Re: Tires...

Hello everybody....just bought an 06 STS4 w/ 70000 miles on her in March, and one of the first things I had to do was replace those horrible Michelin tires!! Overpriced and have zero treadlife, that's a fact! After a few weeks of research I decided on the Bridgestone serenity plus tires. If anyone out there is in the market for tires I would highly recommend these!! After installation the difference in the ride was night and day....smooth, responsive, great price, and great performance. Picked these up at tire rack btw for just under $700 shipped for all four! IMHO these are the best grand touring tire, and offer 65,000 miles of treadlife. If you ask me I would say "Bridgestone all th way!"

The Bridgestone Turanza serenity plus tires are quiet and comfortable. They also got better reviews than the Conti's, at a slightly lower price without the compromise of quality!

    Re: Tires...

My Kuhmo Ecsta LX Platinums have been wearing well. Over 20,000 miles with less than 1/2 the tread gone. W rated to make full of the Northstar's top end. Ples they have a substantial bead ridge that protects the edge of the wheel.

When the V rated Michelins finally wear out on my wife's 2011 she is getting Kuhmo's. I don't want those $3,000 chrome wheels on her car to get scuffed up.
