I've heard this too. But I'm sure they probably estimated how many parts they would have to repair/warranty out in the first 3-5 years and then estimated how many people would replace them after that. I would however guess that the heated steering wheel failure rate was much higher than they anticipated and they blew through their inventory quickly.

You ain't kiddin! I told my salesman that the STS I bought had to have Ventilated Seats and N*. He had two with N* and they were both white with ebony interior and heated only seats...and over 60k miles. I got the color and options I wanted minus the N* but its all good.

I thought the cooled seats may be rather gimmicky, but lemme tell ya! If you live where it's hot and/or humid...THEY'RE GREAT!

The fan is a bit loud, but the comfort is worth it. I rarely hear it over the radio, anyway.

My wheel is black leather and wood. But my car is 2005. I wonder if all of the controls will work, and everything will bolt up correctly. I don't want to have buttons that don't work.

I wonder if there's a fuse that operates this feature?
