    why would it not compare?

Its has the printed instructions/directions and the owner would be able to determine the operations of the car...that is the purpose of the owner's manual right?

My point was...trying to correlate a $70K car as a litmus test for buying an owner's manual is not financial reality

Everyone knows the numbers on these cars .....speaking of waste of ink and paper from another poster...it was waste of ink and paper for GM to print the $68,200 sticker that came with my car

The good news is it seems that GM is through with the type of car and strategy that yielded this car and the DTS

On another note...from a poster who mentioned the manual in the glove box

I am not able to get my manual( along with the Nav guide and other manuals that came with the car) in the glove box

    are you?

Mine sit in backseat floor board in the binder that the car came with

I share Chris' aesthetic sense. In fact, I view the owners manual as part of the car and wouldn't have or sell a car without an OEM version if possible.

With a little patience and sweet oil I can insert both the manual in its leather case and the NAV supplenent into the pocket in the jockey box.

    interesting

I think when I bought the car the Cadillac dealer didnt even try...and just handed it to me

based on the size of that glovebox and that binder with the manuals....when you pull the manual out to look at it it has to be a real job to shoe horn it back in there

Not worth it to me...I have no desire to spend time to try to get it in there...and should you have to in a "70K" car?..lol

Its sat in my back floorboard for 4 years

    "aesthetic sense"

    ok.....the questions is

does your aesthetic sense outweigh your financial?

I dont think generally speaking...as I stated before...it does for most people

A lot of Cadillacs on the street with "check ride control " light on....only a few new shocks and sensors would solve it

and these are "$55K" cars we are talking here

There's a set of notches to hold the owners manual against the roof of the glovebox. It fits there nicely.

I do also find an electronic copy handy.

Yes, my owners & nav manuals fit in their cover and that fits in the slot. My wife's 2007 nav manual doesn't fit so there must be some variance between print/cover runs.

After the manual lays in the floor for a while it swells up. Maybe if you kept it under the mattress for a week or two it'd fit.

2008+ doesn't have that slot in it.

it can just lay on the back floor board like it has for the past 4 years

Its not like I use the nav , voice activation, bluetooth etc anyway..because none of those systems work well

so its sort of a moot point for all those manuals/guides etc

I certainly hope GM has improved their Nav...bluetooth...voice activation systems vs the competition in the new cars
