If I bought any car with an abundence of advanced features, I'd damn well have the manual. Especially if it was available free in pdf.

Sorry Warren, yours is a pissant comment.

Register and put in your VIN. There will be a PDF of the correct owner's manual for your car provided with the account...free.

I live in town so the intellibeam is disengaged most of the time. However, I like the feature on the interstate or long country roads.

He is not dealing with a "70K" car he is dealing with maybe a 12-14K one....keep that in mind

Rarely will someone pour money into a car that depreciates quickly and has high repair costs.....hence the reason you see so many Caddys on "buy here pay here" lots

Keep that in mind when you ask someone why they are not spending big $$ on these cars

I dont blame the guy...had my car not come with one I would have tried to find one on the internet to print out...rather than pay for it

Tell the service or parts department at your dealer it's only a 12-14k car and see if he discounts the parts.

Even a $100 tv stand one reads the instructions on. A Cadillac with all it's electronics you better have and read the manual.

lol...sure he will take your money

does that mean its a smart move

you can go out a buy a Caddy with a "check ride control " light on for $3K....go to the dealer and have new electronic shocks installed for $4K
then you have maybe a car that is worth $3200

The dealer will be more than happy to take your money for anything you want to give them

or you can do something like put a 50K addition on a house in a 60 neighborhood...the contractors will be more than happy to take your money...

I didnt say he shouldn't read the manual....what I said was that ...at this price point...I would download the thing as well

that comment about it being a 70K car and not being to afford the manual is not a sensible

as I said I would download it as well...but using some litmus test about a "$70K" car is not close to financial reality

I bought two owner's manuals, the NAV supplement, and the factory service manual from www.helminc.com. My mom didn't raise a cheapskate.

it means that a digital copy and/or a printed out pdf does not compare to the actual manuals
and that the price for those manuals is so reasonable that to not get 'the read deal' you are being a cheapskate

Yes, I agree. There is nothing like the "real -deal" when it comes to having a manual. It fits into the glove box much better and just the over all quality. I've printed out manual via pdf files as well as manuals for classic cars that were reproductions. In my opinion, there's nothing like an original owner's manual!

Probably waste more on paper and ink than it cost for the real deal.

I like the pdf format its easier to search for things. I think we all need to lighten up a little. I have a manuel but I don't remember every page. I also don't mind asking or being asked a question about a feature on this forum. If you don't feel like answering then don't reply.

Sorry. I certainly did not intend any insensitivity while quoting Merriam-Webster.

Dr. Ben Carson is right. We should not let activists change the language to suit their own motives. It is a corrupting influence. (Now, that was intentional but I do hope no one here is offended.)
