    Re: Foamy oil

"A few bubbles" is NOT, by any stretch of the imagination, "foamy oil".

ReddiWip = "foamy oil". A few bubbles = normal.

Of course, assuming that the level on the dipstick is right in the middle of the hashmark - NOT up at the OPERATING RANGE mark.

<=== ADD XXXXXXXXX OPERATING RANGE ==============oo============O

Right at the full mark is too much...should be in the middle like Sub said.

    Re: Foamy oil

.......... and remember: In a longitudinal engine mount arrangement, hard acceleration causes oil in the pan to climb up the rear wall of the cylinder block - main bearing 5 and rod bearings 7 and 8 will - will - whip the oil into foam if it's overfilled.

......... thus the engine designs that use crankshaft oil scrapers and windage trays and rear bearing oil baffles ......
