My LDW service warning came on briefly then went out.....
My LDW does not work and when I try to go into the "configure". I cannot
Turn the LDW icon on or off..nothing happens when I press the icon.
The windshield is clean and the camera is clean as well.
I have read other posts and still need some assistance.
I am under the GMPP ext. warranty but I have a $100 deductible.
So if there is anything else I can do..please let me know. Thx
Start by ensuring the connector is plugged into the side properly. If it was knocked or damaged while cleaning the glass, it could cause the system not to work. Other than this, there isn't anything else to do. As I recall, it shares a fuse with other systems so unless other items in your car also don't work, the problem won't be a fuse. It is a "stand alone" system in that the camera at the top of the windshield is the only physical component. There will be three wires. Power, ground and serial data. It transmits data on the data bus to the instrument cluster and amplifier (when it commands a chime). It will also communicate with the radio head to turn the system on/off. I have had mine replaced as well, so it isn't completely unheard of for these to go bad. Also keep in mind that it isn't the module attached to the rear view mirror. That will be the IntelliBeam (if your car is equipped). The Lane Departure Warning is mounted in the plastic cover attached to the windshield. Part of this plastic cover also covers the RainSense module.
Thanks I'll check it out...however, I can not even turn it on since I presume it is off
since the green LDW symbol doesn't show on the instrument panel
and I can not turn it on when I press the symbol in the configure setup window.
The "service lane departure warning" hasn't shown up in several days yet
it is not functioning.
Is it still the camera or the module ?
The camera is part of the module. If the system cannot communicate with the module, it will not allow you to turn it on through the navigation screen. There may be an internal fault which, if this is the case, will require replacement. Did you check the connector plugged into the side? There will be criteria that will cause the instrument cluster to display the "Service Lane Departure System" message, but even if this is absent, there may be another fault that's preventing it from working. If the plug is intact and secure, your only real option is a dealer visit. There may be codes stored that will point them in the right direction.
