Starting Issue both with remote start and push button. Please HELP!!!!!

I have a cadillac sts 2006 northstar 32-v with performance package and I have been having this issue shown (on and off for 2 years) in the link below:

    http://youtu.be/1eLEN5R0KVQ

Does anyone know whats wrong with it or how to fix it? I tends to happen more when the car has been parked for several hours. Like when I wake up in the morning and try to start my car this happens.

Please help, no one at my Tucson, AZ cadillac dealership can seem to find out whats wrong!!!!

That is perfectly normal. The car increases idle initially (often 1,100 - 1,200 RPM) and then it will drop back down again. GM documentation even addresses concerns about a harsh garage shift if operators shift out of Park before the RPM drops and they consider this normal. I don't think you have any issue here at all. Both my STS and Bonneville does this.

Mcd9600, I'm happy to look into your concerns further for you, if you wish. If you don't mind contacting me privately with your name and the last eight of your VIN, then I can investigate on your behalf! I'm available via email at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com for further assistance.

I don't think it's a big issue. Does the car ever fail to start or die afterwards?

Do you ever notice difficulty in pulling away gently? The throttle might be a bit stickey and it's all electronic (drive by wire) with no physical connection.

Clean the throttle body and use Top Tier gas.

They can't do much for you without your, and your vehicles information.

A couple of times I have remote started my V and it has revved and then the RPMs went so low it stalled. But normally it Revs and then the RPMs come down right away and it runs fine.

I'm not even concerned about taking it in because they could never duplicate it.

Sorry for the confusion, 97Cadillac! My procedure dictates that I do need the last eight of a VIN in order to investigate for most situations, and I am a Customer Service representative from GM's Social Media team. So, you will see me posting frequently and asking for a customer to private message or email me with a VIN, since I don't want to collect that information on a public thread.

They've been around a long time. A few years ago, posts were few and far between. Members requesting help seldom got responses.

That's changed recently. There's lots of activity. I'd be very interested in the effectiveness of that activity.

Last 8 digits of the VIN doesn't seem like much of a risk.

They can look it up in the database and see the build date, build sheet (specs/options), any repair work that was done by another GM dealer, recalls, etc........

For that matter, if you have access to other databases, you can look at things that insurance people or law enforcement people look at.

VINs are in a lot of databases. Just depends on what you have access to. I doubt if anyone could really do harm to you if you gave your VIN, unless you are a criminal or if they were looking for you for some reason (registration).

If it ever was collateral for a loan, it can link to a credit file.
