    Dual climate control problem

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction....my cars ac/heat is acting up. Even with the fan off there's a slight clicking noise coming from dash...when I turn on the fan heat or ac I have to turn the fan on high cause the ticking is really loud then goes away then I can turn the fan down. The other prob is the drivers side air doesn't blow heat when the heat is on and the the passenger side doesn't blow ac when I have the ac on....before I start ordering parts I don't need I was wondering if someone else had this prob and knows exactly what I would need. Thanks!!

    Re: Dual climate control problem

It sounds to me as multiple issues. The cooling issue could be as simple as low freon. Based on multiple member posts, passenger side cooling suffers first.

Clicking would normally suggest a vent/blend door actuator issue but if it varys with fan speed, it might something with the cabin filter or fan. The described symptoms fit with one or more doors not operating correctly. It could be the control module, too.

It might actually be cost effective to have a dealer diagnose it. Automotive HVAC has come a long way as a specialty.

I think it may be the actuators. Like when I'm in ac mode I have no control of the temp on the drivers side but I know the knob is working correctly because I can feel the temp change at the rear vents. Mine also has a clicking/bird chirping noise in the dash. As far as your fan speed noise, that is more than likely the blower motor. It's located behind the glove box. Remove the glove box and you will see the motor and some actuators on that side(lube the actuators). The drivers side climate control actuator is on the drivers side of the radio and a little more difficult to get to lol that's why I haven't replaced that one yet.
