    wheel/tire fitment

I've been searching the forum but haven't really found a clear cut answer. I've got an 05 sts v6 (daily driver) I'mlooking to install a set of 20" wheels, I don't want them to stick out but also don'twant the high offset like the stocks. What wheel width and offset would be suitable? And also tire sizes? ...as I said this is my dd, my actual toy is my 2010 370 z, I'mrunning a 20 x 10/20 x12 wheelsetup on that.
    Thanks

I don't have an exact offset on mine, but I'm running 20x9 front and 20x10 rear 3 piece wheels. 1 inch lip in front and 2 inch lip in back. Fits perfect. 245/35-20 front and 275/30-20 rear.

    Re: wheel/tire fitment

I was running 20x8.5 with 35mm offset kmc dimes on my 06 V6. There are several threads here on this topic. I have posted pics of it on the 22" thread as well. They fit pretty nice with the 255/35/20 nitto555's.

    Re: wheel/tire fitment

I have been contemplating a staggered setup, so 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear. Since I know the front will be ok, what would the ideal offset be on the 9.5 rear? + 40?

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I'm going with a staggered look a well. Same dimensions. The offset or the rear is +45. The rear dimensions are the same as a 2006 STS V. I'm going with 245/35/19 in front and 275/40/19 in the rear. My only concern is wearing through tires quicker than normal since the rotations would be limited with a staggered look. Without research I'm assuming that at these tire sizes that the tread would be directional so no rotation at all vs non staggered whereas tires can be rotated. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong,

    Thanks,
    DBB

    Re: wheel/tire fitment

A lot of STS came stock with a staggered setup so no rotation possible.
    it is what it is.

    Mine are staggered and directional.

Okay I need some clarification. I want to put staggered 19''s on my 2005 STS v6. I've received advice for three different tire size combination.
    1. 245/35/19 front & 275/40/19 rear-from wheel guy

    2. 245/40/19 front & 275/35/19 rear- from discount tire direct live salesperson

    3. 255/40/19 front & 285/30/19 rear - discount tire direct website based on 2005 STS V6 specs

Which set up of the above three will give me the best cosmetic look with less adverse affect on performance?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    DBB

Make sure to match tire circumfrance to within 1% (or diameter varience under 0.4%) or Stability Control may give you trouble. Other than that, go nuts!

Thanks, and could you elaborate? I'm not totally following, but I definitely want to understand to ensure I'm not headed for double.

He's referring to the outside diameters of the front vs rear tires. The measurements have to be VERY close (within 1/4" or so) to each other, and also to that of the original tires.

    Re: wheel/tire fitment

Is it that or is it that whatever changes he makes say to the front shouldn't deviate more than 1/4 in than what is stock, and same for the back, in order to avoid issues with stability control?
