And turn my finely tuned STS into a bonafide Caprice? No way...can't imagine this beast on passive suspension flying around a banked corner at 75...

Gotta pay to play with an STS, don't like the maintenance costs? Sell it.

I have 2 STS, once you hit 110K and all 4 are leaking we'll see just how fast you'll be banking around corners until you cough up the cash to replace your precious MRC, by then you will have spent so much on other repairs, bring money my friend the STS is thirsty

This is my 4th Cadillac, believe me, I know all about expensive repairs...I also purchased an extended warranty on the STS that runs through 110k so that will be on my list of items to look at before it expires....

But I will NEVER convert to a passive system, no way.

BTW, I got the car with 71k, currently has 89k...so far I've done a starter (warranty), diff seals (warranty), and a motor mount (out of pocket)...that's it, car is cherry and runs/drives like a dream....don't expect it to self destruct in the next 20k.

    Re: Magnetic ride suspension problem

Changed engine oil this weekend and while it was up on the rack I noticed oil from the right front MRC shock all the way down to the lower control arm. No codes. Drove it over some speed bumps and it still feels properly damped, but it looks like I am going to be out two grand in the near future to replace both front shocks. I'll do the replacement myself so at least I save that cost. STS is just at 100,000 miles

The mrc shocks are only about $550 each. Rippy will likely be a bit cheaper.

thats what I did when I had my 02 STS

the suspension would have cost as much as the car was worth

So..I traded it in with 128K and got $4K...BEFORE the suspension got a chance to go south

In no way could I justify putting $4K in car that is only going to be worth $4K
