    Trunk switch replacement

I ordered a new trunk switch for my 2006 Sts. The rubbery button on the outside did not engage the trunk release anymore. Any one know how to replace it and is it hard? Thanks

    Re: Trunk switch replacement

Are you talking about the release switch?

Just want to make sure you don't mean the actual hardware/latch...

    Re: Trunk switch replacement

bighouse427, Mine was easy. The clips that hold it in rusted and the switch fell out. Just unplug the attached wire & push the new switch into place. The clips are attached to the switch and will spring out when pushed into the opening. It may a little tough to spring back the clip while the switch is still in the car. I then split the old switch to see inside. Four spring contact push onto a flat copper plate which had thin white coating. I used steel wool to polish the copper plate. Reassembled & tested by connecting to the plug at the trunk deck, work fine. Still installed the new switch. Part# 10383948, $25. plus shipping thur Rippy's Danny
