I have a 2002 cadillac sts and i was checking on the parking break it got suck and i got it to release but the rear brakes are not full released. what do i do
My park avenue had this problem. Its the same frame and same suspension setup. I had to get behind the drivers side rear wheel and knock it until it came all the way released. And this is the 2005 and up sts forum
If it's like most parking brakes, the hang-up could be on either side. Check with the guys on the Seville forum. They know their (very different) cars.
I took anything hard and wacked it. I had a 2002 park avenue. Sometimes I had to push it untill it released. It was a pain in the a$$. I never set the parking brake after I released it. They get hung up, dont know why but its a pain to get it loose. You would have to figure out which one is hanging up first then wack it or push it loose.
Perhaps some lubrication would be in order folks???
