    2009 Wheel Alignment

Decided to have a full wheel alignment check after fitting a new set of tyres.

Full laser check showed minor front alignment error which was adjusted to factory specs.

Now steering wheel is not straight on a flat straight road, it is slightly clockwise at approx 10 degrees angle.

I will be returning to have this corrected, as steering wheel was perfectly straight before alignment.

Now I'm reading that cars with Stability control should have the steering wheel position sensor reset after any alignment, and this was not done.

Any advice guys, (2009 Euro 3.6 STS)

I'm surprised the alignment shop didn't drive the car around the block to check centering. After they finish their job you should be okay if the stability system was OK before.

Changed my tires and wheels from 18s to 20s and the shop I frequent checked the alignment and found it within specs. Makes you wonder if they adjusted the alignment when it wasn't needed.

Well it took 2 more attempts despite them having the latest computerised checking equipment.......steering wheel and car now arrow straight, guess they never made any money on that job?

They may have 'state of the art' equipment but unfortunately they also have 'state of the art' high school graduates working on your car.

I'd suggest finding a different shop. You'd hate to have a brake job or oil change take three tries.

Yeah, that kind of sums it up echas3.

Fortunately the closest tire ship to me has a smart kid working there. This really know his stuff.
