    HVAC Temp Control Issue

Anyone have problems with the temp control knob? The passenger's side works just fine, but the driver's side has some issues. Most of the time when I turn it "up" it either stays the same temp or actually goes down. So, I have to turn it really slow, or kind of push it in when I'm turning it. Turning it "down" doesn't work much better. What a PAIN, especially in traffic or really cold mornings.

Just wondering if I can pop off the knob or something and maybe clean the contacts? It's still under warranty, but I have a $50 deductable and would rather save the money if it is an easy fix.

Agreed. Buying the module on eBay or a junkyard and swapping them yourself would be more than $50...get it done through the warranty...maybe hold off until a couple of other things need fixing too.

Extended warranty deductables are usually per reported issue. Check your contract.

I bought through CarMax and it's a $50 deductable no matter how many repairs needed. So I've had the car 7mo and it now needs:

    -HVAC control knob
    -HVAC "fart" noise fixed
    -driver's lumbar motor is dead
-driver's seat control panel broke (but switches still work)
-start button cracked (probably not covered?)

As you can see, all of the above fixes are things that get heavy use. I guess for a 7yr old car it's expected.

Every time I've made an extended warranty claim under my GMPP plan, the deductible is based on a per work order basis. If I have five items (for example) on that work order, it is one deductible. It your repairs aren't major, you might want to wait a while in case something else occurs.
