    Noise?

On my 1500 mile drive I noticed a noise that seemed to be coming from the left front. It sounded like something plastic was loose and maybe vibrating. In checking all I could find was the left front fender liner seemed to have much more play than the right. I hope it is just missing some fasteners but I haven't had time to check closer. Has this been an issue for anyone? I saw the thread about the buzzing noise, but this really sounds like something plastic. I also wonder if it could be the left engine cover...they only seem to be attached to the front of the car...

So your thinking its by the front wheel? What did the noise sound like? Yes it could be the bumper extension liner or the top wheel well liner. I usually take those engine compartment covers of in the summer but I havent had any noises made from them for how loosely they are attatched.

Is your sound constant or just through certain RPMs? I was the one who posted about the buzzing noise and I would agree with you that my sound does sound like a plastic vibrating, almost coming from the front left speaker area of the dash or engine compartment.

I've been to the dealer and they can hear the sound but were unable to pinpoint it, it's now become one of those things that's driving me crazy...

The sight shields are attached at the front and back. You'll find some slots molded into the underside of the cover towards the rear. You'll also find a small post with what looks like a small ball on the top sticking up from the body of the car. The grooves in the cover press onto this post.

Thanks...I'll have to look at the sight shields closer. I know for a fact that the driver side one is just laying on top at the rear. I still haven't had time to examine the wheel well area closely.

    Re: Noise?

Chazglenn3, good luck with finding the noise with your STS. I just discovered mine was coming from the Air Inlet Control Tuning Valve, see here if interested: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...my-05-sts.html

You may want to check the lower air dam--the black rubbererized one below the painted fascia lip.
