Has anyone replaced non-MRC shocks on the STS, need part # help

I ordered 2 front shocks and GM parts said i had the wrong part #s
I ordered 88966973. They told me i needed 22064723 & 22064724, those look nothing like my shocks and appear to be struts for late 90s model devilles.

    I think i may need 19181634

Is there any difference between the shocks for cars with brakes JE2(performance) & JE5
The price is about $200 higher for the non performance braked cars, which i have

    Info: i have a 2005 STS with the v6, FE1 suspension, 6ZK 7ZK suspension, JE5 brakes

Vin would help, dealers can check off that and get the right part no questions asked.

Then thats what you need. They order based off the OE build of your car.

Decided to go with the KYB brand shocks (551607) for the fronts at about $120/ea.. Getting AC Delco for the rear.. Normally i wouldn't skimp but saving $370, when i know i also need new front brakes and possibly a wheel bearing seems like the best choice.. This winter was hell on my suspension.

BTW, if anyone is searching.. GM parts direct looked up my part #s 19181634 = Front, 25769669 = Rear (for the RWD V6 STS w/o Performance brakes)

    Osiris83,

I was wondering how the KYB replacement went on your STS. Would you mind sharing how it went and if the KYB fit and performed properly? Were there any tricks or problems with you swapping them out?

    Thanks,
    John
