The problem is: when I turn the lockpick on -it works, but gps antenna turns off. Is it normally how it works or I miss smth?
The lockpick is designed to work that way.

When you activate the lockpick, it interrupts the signal between the GPS, VSS, (vehicle speed sensor), and the car. There is no way to utilize the lockpick and the GPS at the same time.

If you want a GPS signal, switch off the lock pick.

When the lockpick is on, the GPS signal is interrupted.

No way to use both at once.

Exactly correct. This is mentioned numerous times throughout this thread.

Yes, You need the $299 modified lockpick. Its the same unit for all 2005-2007's.

just installed on 2006 Sts V. unit received from Tomm fast and easy install. works great. Lockpic was installed in 10 mins or less. but it took me about 1 hr to figure out how to fix that pesky ashtray locking itself issue I've had since owning the car. now both are working great. thanks

Same here. Installed this weekend. Awesome. Now both my regular and V have them. Would hate to not have them.

    Re: Official STS Lockpick Thread

Since I also have an uPAC-STS, my most difficult step was to position all the wiring & connectors while refitting the Nav. I finally used a lightweight string looped through the harness & dash. Once the Nav was reinstalled, a couple yanks and the string was removed.

Tomm, I bought one of your lock picks for my 2005 STS and it worked great. I now have a 2007 STS-V and want to get one for it. I know you have said several times that the 2007s need the modified pick. I do have the mute and source buttons on my wheel and just wanted to check that I still need the modified pick before placing my order.

Thanks for making a great product.

You would still need the 2007 version.

The wheel where you would not need the modified version looks like this: 2008+

Sorry for the late response. Being in NJ we were hit with the Hurricane and we have been without power for a week. Yes, Even with the mute button on the 2007's you still need the modified Lockpick. Only the newer Style 2008+ with the new Steering wheel's do not need the modified units.
