| | | Noob w/ 05 AWD Howdy all!!
I just picked up an 05 STS4 on a whim (ok, it was the wifes "whim", so there was nothing I could do), and so far, we're loving it!
Apparently, it has the 1SG package (which I gather is pretty rare? ) and a host of other options, with the exception of the HUD and ACC.
I've read a few threads here, and it sounds like the 05s have their fair share of problems, but I didn't see any listed.
What are the common problems for the 05s, and are they covered under warranty?
Thanks! |

Most of the problems are covered under warranty.
Most of the problems I think are minor.
Bluetooth connection, Voice commands, tires, Nav functions being disabled in drive, and AWD not shifting right. The is a fix now. Check the sticky notes. |

| | | Re: Noob w/ 05 AWD Paid ~$25k, but it's got some miles on it. What's high mileage now will be low mileage in a short coupla years however, as my wife doesn't drive very far for work.
Tranny shifts fine. Our front tires are toast, but the rears aren't too bad. It appears to need an alignment too. What's the prob with the tires? Nav? I mean besides it being a total POS to use. Others?
I'll run a search for these items too, but if you've saved links to good threads, I'd appreciate if you forwarded them to me. Thanks! |

Thanks! | The biggest problem is the insanely high rate of depreciation. You did well by picking up a used one if it's still under warranty. |

Yeah, that's the bitch of it about Caddys, but it works out pretty well for us! We get great cars at a fraction of what they cost new!
I finally got to put it thru some paces today, played in some curves with the Sport mode on. Very impressive!!!! Even my M5 buddy thought so! |

| | | Re: Noob w/ 05 AWD I got a 06 STS with 5,000 on it. Fully loaded. Black on black Nav, HUD, ACC for $39,000. MSRP is $65,000. I'd say they depreciate |
