I say, I put my foot on the throttle it should do something other than suck gas!!!! Any input? I am told by the service manager, I am in 5th gear (most of the time to save gas) and the lack of response is to be expected. (Thanks, now you tell me) $52,000 and I should not expect the car to move when I accelerate!!!! |

When I get it back I will let y'all know what they came up with regarding the hesitation to downshift that seems to be troubling the all wheel drive STS's. They are doing an OBII download and see if that helps, if not they will try something else. |

Sewell said they did the OBDII download and drove it but could not tell before or after I am to drive it and see what is up and bring it back if it is not fixed. Sewell says they have other tranny programs to install if the original one is not working correctly. Problem with that is over at the SRX forum the fix seems worst than the problem. Well report back later this week when I am in town to drive. |

My '05 SRX V6 awd performs beautifully with no problems in the same situation. They asked me to bring the '05 STS4 back if not fixed but judging from the SRX forum posts the fix maybe worst than the intial problem. I have not decided what to do. |

There is NO fix for the tranny at this point. They looked up everywhere and found no alternative tranny programs anywhere. Sadly enough we are the chosen few it seems with the problem.
I am driving my car tomorrow back to the mountains of New Mexico and I will let you know if it still acts the same as I presume it will. |

The dealer is no help. I don't drive the car anymore as I let my better half drive it now, they are not car oriented and cannot discern anything wrong unless the engine fails to start or something like that. |

My dad has an STS4 V8 which I drive from time to time to the mountain.
The handling is quite impressive for such a heavy car. We had the 99 model and it doesn't compare.
As far as transmission goes, I don't recall having this issue, but again, I often drive in manual mode when going up. |

you can only feel it if you are driving on low speeds , if you are on a high RPM it is the best car to drive, otherwise better to drive a truck , try it and let me know | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
