Extended Warranty .... No Remorse
I bought my 2006 sts back in December of 2009 and paid an extra $1350 =/- to have it certified. Well, I just turned over 50K miles this week and didn't have one bit of remorse for purchasing the warranty (I thought I might regret it). I typically never by extended warranties but knowing I'm covered until 100 K miles or August of 2012, whichever comes first, I'm glad I did. I started taking my two cars to the dealer for non warranty repairs about 5 or 6 years ago. As a result, I know what even basic repairs can cost. The shop rate for the GM dealership I visit is around $94 (if my memory serves me).

Re: Extended Warranty .... No Remorse
Agreed. I paid $2400 (I think) for GMPP Major Guard 36 months / 45K miles.
I still have 27 months and 34K miles and have already had $2100 in work done.
Even if you only break even or almost even on a warrenty it's worth it for the peace of mind.

Re: Extended Warranty .... No Remorse
agreed
I tend to think you get your money back on these cars in repairs
Its not a Lexus
I paid $3700 for a "almost Cadillac certified" warranty for 4yr 48K
in 10K miles and 8 months of ownership its paid $2200 already
I feel like I will get my money back and then some
