Auto Door handle not working 05!!

Has anyone had a problem with their driver door handle not working from the outside when the key fob is supposed to detect and unlock it? Mine was sticking then finally quit altogether, what a POS! I suppose it's warranty time, luckily I bought the extended package, but just a pain in the a$$, too much electronic crap on these cars, and only 4 years old, what'll it be like after 8 years and 10 if I have it that long. Caddy boys, KISS principal, Keep It Simple Stupid, give me the horsepower and performance, keep the bells and whistles to a minimum!!!

If you want horsepower and performance and to keep the bells and whistles to a minimum go get a charger or a mustang

Cadillac = bells and whistles

It was $160 to replace mine @ ~17,000 miles (also an '05). Bells and whistles do break and you fix 'em. I'm sure it would have been less expensive to change it myself, but that seemed very reasonable. A bit soon for the life of a door handle, but better door handles than major repairs.

Yeah, the bells and whistles scare the crap out of me when it involves electronics and cars combined. But fortunately, Cadillac has a good warranty policy. I bought my 06' STS4 V8 1SE used in June, and so far the passenger side door handle, the remote mirror control switch, and the water pump have had to be replaced. All for $0.00 so far. It is inconvenient to have to take the time to go to the dealer for the repairs, but it would be far worse if I had to pay for these repairs. I would not have bought this car without the Certified Pre-owned warranty. Just too scary!

I like bells and whistles as well as the next guy but what was so wrong with a good old FOB???? I mean the new system leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes it takes a second or 2 to respond and no one can get in ahead of the driver. I know I can still hit buttons but this does not make any sense. Still not as dumb as voice recognition!!!!

Passeneger side door handle for me too, still intermittent but I'm assuming it will die soon if you guys have already run into the issues. Does anyone have their service papers for the door handle or a part number? Would be grealty appreciated.

My receipt with the front passenger door handle repair says:

well, mustangs and chargers are for kids, they are fast cars but junk heaps, I'll keep my caddy thanks! Going fast is for tickets and kids, oh, and lots of gas.
