I know a guy that has a set of winter tires mounted on oem rims for sale. His car is an 05 and mine is an 06. The rims appear identical. Will they fit?

Don't the performance brakes require the 18" wheels?

Re: Will 05 rims fit 06?

i dont think the cadillac sts comes with anything less then 17s, the reason u get 18s with the performance package is purely upgrade looks. you could get the 17s on the fully decked out sts without isse, not putting 16s, dont know why you would, would be hard.

Re: Will 05 rims fit 06?

So, the only wheel compatibility issue involve the STSV 6-lug hubs (also available on later non-V models.)

Re: Will 05 rims fit 06?

ya lugs would cause an issue. some ppl think because they get a certian package they have to have the larger wheel. there wasnt a major brake upgrade for the STS between standard v8 and premium v8. it just they gave it larger wheels cause well they look nicer and cost more. usally when u seem larger breaks or a major torque difference, then there is a possibility the wheel different is there due to size and lug amount.

Re: Will 05 rims fit 06?

you didn't mention what model STS you have, but there are differences in wheel width depending on the model, but if you replace in pairs as I'm sure you will be, it's not an issue.

Re: Will 05 rims fit 06?

the premium STS has the staggered wheels, which will directly fit on th base v8s, and the base v8s will work ont he staggered wheel v8. its more or less luxury packaging. better the packaged model, the better the equipment being used.staggered wheels are not cheap cause ur talking about 2 different thickness. but u can easily swap them out with wheels of the same thickness specially when u go up in size due to the cost.

Re: Will 05 rims fit 06?

Many posts here over last few years. Do a search here.

I believe wheels will interchange between the CTS and STS from 2003 to 2007. Lug nut pattern was changed in 2008 on CTS (and STS????) Newer models are 120 mm vs 115mm that GM has used for 3 million years. V models use 6 lugs. I know nothing about AWD. Paul is wheel/tire expert at Cavender Cadillac in San Antonio Bud Davis Cadillac in Memphis used to have a wheel tire expert too. Don't remember his name.

Do kangaroos have belly buttons??? (Sorry for stealing thread.)
