I am the one who started this thread I think of many and I have the 09 disk which isn't any better than the 08 one or for that matter the 07. What I find bad about it is the price of the GM nav against the cheap Garmin. Now if GM sold theirs for what you pay for the Garmin than I could live with it. I sure don't understand how the CTS people could like it as I bet it is the same thing as we have but maybe in a different wrapper. Bottom line the things it don't do for over 2 grand is bull.

Since this has been on back order for as long as I can remember, does anyone actually have one and is it worth the wait?

Re: Stupid Nav.

One thing I don't understand is how come I can use Street Atlas on my laptop and it comes on ONE DVD and it has almost every road in the United STates on it where as I'm always running into places just outside of good size towns where as the GM nav doesn't work.

The STS nav is not the worse one available in a Cadillac, the SRX and XLR nav's seem archaic to me. I don't know how good a Garmin was in 2004, but I would imagine it is not as good as it is now

I believe it's all the POIs that require the extra room--not the roadways.

Re: Stupid Nav.

I am in agreement with the majority here. Although I like the STS Nav, my Navigon is far superior in directions, saying street names and poi's list in order of distance from your location. I can't even get the POI's to work properly or I just don't know how to do it I guess. As we drive down the highway, I see food, money and accomodations signs pop up but I don't know how to access them. I touch those icons and nothing happens. If we want to look for a POI, we have to pull over and use the nav while stopped. What a pain, especially if you are on a busy freeway... I gave the navigon to my girlfriend but we are going to use it on a trip this weekend because it is so easy to program...
