remote start climate control??

Remove this ad
I have a few questions on the remote start and the climate control, I have turned the options in the personal options, i was under the impression that whatever you had the climate control set to when you program the exit button, or the driver 1 button that is what the climate would be set to when remotely started. today after remote starting I got in the car and the climate screen was blank, it is cold here now and I want the heated seat and the defroster to come on full blast when started. I have a f350 truck with remote start, I leave the defrost on high, hot and when remote started it comes blasting on. this is what i want in my caddy.

Re: remote start climate control??

Don't look for the climate screen to be anything But blank because the car is, really, kind of, OFF when remotely started.

BUT even though it IS blank, if your system is programmed for it, your seats/heat/defroster should be ON (your defroster should be fairly Loud and noticeably running when you get in assuming it's cold out)

Re: remote start climate control??

in the personalization section the auto start menu gives the option to have the seat heater, and defroster come on during auto start, at least for my 08 with dvd nav system,

Re: remote start climate control??

I too had this "problem" but as described above the system is working but the display is blank. So although you hear the defrost at high speed you suspect the seats are not on. Compounding the problem is that the seats take a while to heat up and the actual heating area is maybe 40% of the total seat area. The heated seats are not as good as the prior model. In my 2000 those babies were toasty quick!

Re: remote start climate control??

I think outside temperature has a lot to do with it unlike the older models that just fry the bacon. If the temp outside doesn't call for it, it adjusts accordingly.

Re: remote start climate control??

My wife's 2007 heated seats 'bring it on' a lot better than my 2006.
