Nav DVD version number

I know the DVD has a version number on the face of the DVD, but is there a way to pull this information up on the screen?

I have a 2008 and the DVD shows to be Version 4.0. Is that the lastest?

Does anyone have the capability to make a backup copy of these? My computer doesn't burn DVD's any between switching out the disc and it sitting in the glove box, I don't see it lasting all that long.

Unless you subject the disc to physical abuse it should last forever or at least until the next version is released. The only thing that touches the disc is a gentle cleaning brush and laser light.

The short story:
Press the "MENU" button while on the nav screen...

Press on the area shown for about 5 seconds

When the keypad appears, enter "9448" and then press "OK"

Press the "Software Info" button and you will get this...

Press the "Next Page" button and you will be able to see the version number...

The pin "9448" does not work in my car ' 2008 STS '. Do you have a code for the 2008 STS?

Does not work on my 2008 STS.

The code locks up my NAV with the power on until the battery goes dead. I have to dosconnect the battery to reset it. '06 STS.
