New throttle body

My '06 V8 STS4 has had a couple issues with the engine light coming on. the first was a seal that needed replaced on the MAF. Engine light was still coming on. The dealer now replaced the Throttle body. Good, no more engine light. Well, ever since the change, I have gotten 4 to 5 MPG less. Any ideas of what could have happend?? I'm ready to ask them to put the old one back on. HAha

Re: New throttle body

Does it run any differently? With the combination of "check engine" light and bad mileage, my first guess would be a bad intake or exhaust sensor.

Re: New throttle body

The car runs and feels the same. The thing is, I was getting better gas mileage with the engine light on and the old throttle body. could the new trottle body make this happen? Wouldn't a sensor throw the Engine light back on? thanks for your input.

Re: New throttle body

it's possible that the engine managment electronic control unit will need to learn the new parameters of the throttle body...i would think that the sensors going into the t/b are integral to the transmission and the drive by wire circuits. if it persists, i would contact the service manager and have the car checked for codes.

there does seem to be a history of problems with the throttle body...
