Bluetooth experience on my new 2008 STS-4 with NAV option

After configuring my Black Berry 7130E to the vehicle, I must say that the system works great! I have the phone set up in the discoverable mode, so that when I get in the car it syncs up in less than 15 seconds. Unfortunately the hands free call quality isn't that great. In my opinion a bluetooth headset works better but is more of a hassle to use. The phone actually goes into the bluetooth mode even if the car isn't on!

But here in lies a problem. if you are on a call (or lets say you recieve one) and you get close to the car (withing 15 feet I'm guessing) the person to whom you are speaking will be able to hear you, but you will not be able to hear them! But if you walk away from the car, then your conversation is fine. I know that this problem can be avoided by turning off the discoverable mode on your phone.

The one thing I do like is that if you get a call while driving, you can cancel the hands free mode by pressing the hard AUX button and then PRIVATE on the screen, and just pick up the phone and talk.

as if my experience, no mobile phone worked better than Sony Ericsson.....it gives you the option to switch the call when you receive it from the head set it self.

Re: Bluetooth experience on my new 2008 STS-4 with NAV option

I have a BB 8830 and have used a Razr with this car also. It does pair with the car, but only when the car is looking for it. Mine will pair with the car when you push the unlock button on the keyless remote transmitter...provided that the car is within range of the phone and will also pair the second that you yank on the door handle with the transmitter on your person, but it will not pair with the car if I just get in range. Car starts looking for the phone when it is opened. Don't get me wrong, I think that this in inconvenient as heck too, but it is not as inconvenient as the way that you are describing it.

I would like to be able to get into the car (especially when it is raining) without having to put the conversation on hold. Then I could start the car and have the phone pair with the car after the ignition button is pressed. This is how it has worked in other non-Cadillac cars that I have owned.
