Brakes

I just received a booklet from TireRack and it had ratings of brake pads from several manufacturers. The thing that caught my eye was that 'ceramic' pads were rated excellant for noise and dust but poor/soso for braking. I was led to believe that 'ceramic' pads were the best. It also states that to get better braking with other types of pads you sacrifice the noise and dust factors. While the braking on my 07 STS 1SG(with standard brake pkg) is just fine, I was wondering if anyone out there has replaced their brakes with something other than 'ceramic'?

I just replaced my brakes with the AC delco ceramic pads. They work great with the original rotors. They have almost eliminated my brake dust problems. I know you were looking for something besides ceramic just figured I would give you my experience.
