According to tomm, he only needed to get 6 people to do the order. So now we have 4 and I am sure there will be more as the word is getting out about the system.

Well, I am going to order the lockpick for the 07-08 Escalade since it wires in the same way to the 05 up STS. If you read back through the posts, all tomm is doing is buying these and using 2 relays and a toggle switch. There is also NAVTV who builds a similar item. I talked with my NAVTV rep today and he states that there is a possibility of getting this to work with their unit. I will try it an let everyone know when I have figured it out. If tomm doesn't want to respond and help the rest of us as we have politely asked, lets build our own. No offense to tomm since he has spent a lot of time on this and slightly hinted to how he has built these and I greatly thank him for it, but I think I can figure this out as well. I will order the Lockpick and the NAVTV parts through my car audio store, build them and let you all know what works best. It could be a week or two before i have an answer for the remaining few of us who want them.

I am sure that tomm will reply when he gets a chance. He had stated before that he doesn't check very often. We all have busy lives.

Some people make me laugh... I have spent months searching for the right way to modify these units going through connector after connector, relay after relay until I gut this just right. Without my persistance there would not even be a Coastal 2007+ Lockpick available which I spent tons of time getting coastal involved in making it since they were not interested. I tested numerous units, demo's and other trial units from NavTV, etc. and took my dash apart over 10 times for us to be where we are today.

I own my own company and I am a very busy person and hanging out on a forum is somthing I do not have time to do especially with two little kids at home. There is even a thread here if someone looked for it instead of looking to be spoon fed and complaining that I do not respond quick enough with all the parts, part numbers, prices, sources for everything you need to build these yourself.

The problem is tools are expensive and some things need to be purchased in bulk such as the thin antenna cable that needs to be used to make the navigation antenna connections. I ordered 100ft roll of cable and I used it all. In order to make just one more 2005 Lockpick with an Override Switch I need to spend another $50+ just to get more cable.

This is not something that was profitable for us. With the time spend modifying these, getting parts constantly, shipping costs, time spent supporting these we made nothing but did it to help you guys out. We were charging $265 a unit which is $15 over what Coastal is charging for the unmodded units... Yes, So it you bought it for $250 and did it yourself do you think you could mod them for $15... NO WAY! But we get complaints after complaints about how long backorders were taking, some people calling us on our toll free number and taking time from my sales reps day answering questions about the product, tracking information, installation information, etc.

Again, Making modifications is not our business... Nothing close to it. We did this as a favor to the members here and it has gotten out of hand.

I gave everyone a choice.... Want to make one yourself I supplied in another thread a full writeup and every part you need to make one and the source for each part. If you want us to do it we will do it for $50 over Coastals price.. $249 + $50 = $299.... We are not going to do it for anything less anymore because we make nothing on them.

Tomm - if its not too late, i'd like to join in and order one for my 06 STS-V. Just let me know what I need to do and I'll send you the $299 (+whatever for shipping/tax??). You sound like you've got this down pat, so I wouldn't want to buy from anyone else.

Again, there was nothing intended against tomm. He has done something great for everyone here as I stated before and would like to just order one as well since he has it down. I understand people get busy and can't hang out on forums. I usually don't either but I just picked up my STS and that is the main reason for me to be on this forum after doing a google search about this. I am very impatient and was going to try my own since there wasn't a response. I appologize if offended anyone for trying one myself. If tomm will still make some, as I said before, I am in.

I received 3 backorders and I have enough parts in stock to produce the 3 units this weekend and I will ship them on Monday. If anyone else backorders one it will ship the following Monday since I will only be doing these on the weekends from now on. I work from 9:00am to 7:00pm during the week and when I am done working I dont want to go home and start soldering and staying up real late doing them so I will only do them on the weekends.
