It was a peice of cake like everyone has said except tucking the wires back in and getting the gps wire connected properly were time consuming. I can definitly highly reccomend the product...
dattsr... for an 05 like I have you do not use the mute botton, but instead a seperate tiny switch. I will post some pictures of my install.

I have not visited in a while so to give everyone an update. We cancelled all backorders on the 2005-2006 STS Lockpicks. The GPS antenna connectors are still on Backorder and last date I saw was 6/28/2008. There is no need for me to hold anyones funds so all backorders were cancelled.
We do have plenty of the 2007+ Lockpicks in stock for the $235 but we do not have the parts to complete the 2005-2006 versions at this time. |

If you purchased a switched unit there is no reason it would ever get disengaged unless you have one of the switch wires pinched or the wires on the switch got loose. Check your wiring to see if any of these wires were pulled to hard when running the switch. |

I'll re check the wiring and will have the switch replaced coz I'm suspecting it has a problem. I'll let you know what happens.

I replaced an existing screw with the switch. Used a pushbutton switch instead of the toggle, fits better in the location I placed it as the screw was recessed, difficult to flip a toggle.
The switch is located under the passenger side dash, near the center console, just behind the glove box. Probably easiest to see this on the center image. Toward the bottom of the pic is the passenger side carpeting, on the L is the center console, and on the right toward top is the glovebox handle.

With the switch in the OFF position the video SHOULD cut off after 8 MPH... When activated it will stay ON after 8 MPH... Maybe you just have the switch in the off position since the way you are explaining your issue its acting as if the switch is off. |

Only when you hit 8MPH is when the video cuts off regardless if the override switch is on or off.
You must have touched the dip switches on the lockpick unit itself. Make sure all dip switches are OFF. I would bet you have one of them in the on position. Only time you need to use the dip switches is on the 2007+ STS vehicles. If one of the dip switches is on unplug power to the Lockpick unit, Put all dip switches back in the off position and re-connect everything. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
