2005-2006's will ship Tuesday or Wednesday
2007-2008 units will ship on Monday or Tuesday.

All the info you need on installing the units is in the long STS Navigation Thread.

OK guys I'm a little confused now. I received an email from Costaletech saying it works without the switch on a 2006 STS IF I have a mute button (see below). Which one is correct??

"If you have the mute button, it will work

There is a full installation video showing how to install it step by step
right on the website. The unit comes with a text representation but after
watching the video it is pretty simple."

Another email below from CostaleTech. I must assume he is talking about the "lockpick guru" here we all love and respect. I assume no switch necessary?

"Works with mute on steering wheel vehicles. If no button present, there is a gentleman on the Cadillac forum which can put together a system to add a switch for you. Map tracking will stop while you activate the unlock functions. When you turn it back off, the map will reposition you in a few seconds. No settings are changed. No surprises

The units are in stock.
Yes, the phone dialing is unlocked. If you have A/V inputs on the console, then the Lockpick will unlock them. iPODs need the APPLE A/V cable to be able to output video so make sure and get one first and then select TV out from the menu to enable the video out on the iPOD.

I can only speak from my own experience and tests. The 2008 unit did not work on the 2005 & 2006 STS vehicles we tested even if it had a mute switch. We were only successful on 2007+ vehicles.

I also just checked Coastals site and their new product still only lists support for 2007 & 2008 Vehicles, Also checked with NavTV to see if they had anything new and they also only support 2007-2008 vehicles. I guess you can be a Guini Pig and try it on your 2006 but I can guarantee mixed results since we had no success on the 2006 we tried it on and definately no luck on 2005's since I tried everything on my 2005 before I made the mod.

PS, It's 12:37 Eastern time, are you up late too or out west? You replied earlier mine would ship today (Wednesday now) or tomorrow. Hope it's Wednesdy so I can do a weekend install. I used to "fiddle" with helping others watch various satellite programming. Seems like it had something to do with writing hexidicemal code on little magnetic strips or something;} I know what a pain it is for your anxious public to wait on you to deliver god-like impossible results to entertain their fancy, not their needs in the blink of an eye. "We're not worthy........."

I dont sleep... Running a business and having a family with 2 young kids and then doing these units I am up from 6:30am to around 1:00am every day... I am amazed how I run with less than 6 hours a day of sleep.

I am behind on the 2005-2006 units and I apologize but I have been extremely busy lately. All 2005-2006 units will ship by tomorrow. Some have already shipped and those that shipped were sent ship confirmation emails already.

From this point forward I will stock the 2007-2008 units so they will ship the same day if anyone needs one. The 2005-2006 units will be modified when ordered so those units will ship 1-2 days after you place your order.

No new orders will be filled for 2005-2006 STS units. One of the GPS connectors is on backorder till the earliest 5/7 so we will not accept any more orders for 2005-2006 vehicles for atleast a month. If you have a 2007-2008 STS with a mute button we have those in stock for $235.00
