Update... All 2007, 2008 units are now stocked and can ship the same day.

All units that are backordered for 2005-2007 units with the manual override switches will be shipped by Monday, Most will ship Friday.

Yep, I will need one for my 2005. I should be buying a 05, V8 1SF with Mag ride and Nav Saturday. If i do I will definitley need/want a lockpick.

Noticed on the video he left the acc. pwr. on while installing and pulling the unit out ..
Is that necessary?or should the pwr. be off?
I ordered the lockpit for my 2008 STS last night..

No, The power should be off when connecting the unit.

is the tuggle switch included or i have to add one to the unit if i own an 05 V8?

All units that require a switch come with one.. Many folks here just change the switches to match their switch preferences but one in included.

Does this only affect the DVD operation or does it also unlock some features like being able to switch the mag ride settings while in motion?

It tells the navigation unit that the vehicle is not moving so it unlocks DVD playback, Unlocks all Navigation Features, Unlocks Bluetooth Features etc. Never looked at the magnetic ride controls so I cant tell you. I can test it tonight or maybe someone else can chime in before this evening.

Installed the lockpick this morning, works perfectly. I removed the lighter socket, made an adaptor to fit into the black plastic lighter holder and epoxied the on-off switch to my adaptor. stealth and very easy to access. I never use a power outlet, but if one is needed I'll use the one in the console. this thing is great. no if someone would be able to hack the ecu so we can get a few more ponies fron the v-6

i was able to switch mag ride settings while in motion before i installed the lockpick. just hit the CONFIG hard key on your NAV unit. do you have the latest dealer software update? i think that is made possible with the latest dealer update to to NAV unit. someone correct me if im wrong...
