How to Covert CoastalEtech's Gen 4 Escalade Lockpick to work on your Cadillac STS. This will enable all navigation features to be unlocked while the vehicle is in motion. Do to picture limitations of only 15 pictures per thread I needed to post this on an outside site. The guide will be completed today or tomorrow but in any case here is what I have so far: http://69.5.169.94/STS.htm |

Awesome!!!! do you have to add a switch or something to this harness? it will allow your aux video to work while in motion too? so all i have to order from coastal is the gen 4 lockpick, sounds good....those guys are fools for not producing this. thanks tomm..... |

Yes, There is much more to it... Please be patient and I will post the balance of it as soon as I finish the unit I am working on. Yes, A switch is needed as well as the dual relay to switch off the GPS antenna as well as the VSS when needed. Special tools are also required to make the GPS antenna connectors which I have not shown here yet.

Sure you could do it but if something happens and you bring your vehicle to the dealer there is no way of hiding that you cut wires in the back of the unit and you seriously risk having warranty issues. |

I think its a great deal! |

Video will continue running. Make a post in the CTS forum and someone there will give you the button sequence... |

From the pictures I could not tell what is the trigger for the relay to disconnect the GPS...is it the VSS wires, so does the lockpick still activate/deactivate with the mute button on the steering wheel? Could a push button switch be used in place of the VSS wires if they are the trigger on the relay? How much would it be for you to make just the GPS bypass with lead wires attached to the relay, since already have the lockpick? It might be easier for me to install a small push button switch in the center counsel... |

Im number 19 on the list. |

The modification is controlled from a toggle switch. In your current configuration the VSS is being switched from the lockpick (At least it should be) and the GPS antenna would be toggled from the toggle switch which would mean you would have to activate both to override the system.
My suggestion would be for you to cut the two VSS wires that are part of the coastal harness and I could make you an override module just for your setup which will have 2 wires for you to re-attach to the VSS wires that you cut from the coastal harness. You would just need to attach the Antenna Connectors and a +12V and Ground Wire both of which should be available on the lockpick setup you already have.
It would be $45 for me to do this for you. If you want you can remove everything and send it to me and I will just make the necessary changes or I can make you the add-on module and you will just have to cut the 2 VSS wires as I mentioned above and re-attach them to my module, connect the 2 antenna wires and tap the +12V & Ground. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
