I know this has been talk about before,but-------
I have a 2005 sts with the standard lights. I would like to do an hid conversion. The standard low beams are fine for me. My question, should i convert the fogs or the high beams? I am leaning to the the fogs. I want the 5000k temp. I do not want the blue look, just not my thing, I want bright white light. If I convert the fogs it should not have any problems with the computer, If I convert the highs it may cause a glich in the body control computer. I had a freind this happened to. Then the question comes to mind, who to but the kit from?
If you're going to do this, please buy a set of the factory beams and do not stick an aftermarket conversion kit into a standard lense. The light cutoff and focus will be wrong and you'll blind other traffic. You might not care, but if you've ever had the misfortune of being blinded by a ricer who put HID bulbs in his stock civic lenses, you'll know what I mean. An HID light requires a projector lense with a very sharp beam cutoff. Further, I have yet to read a review by anyone actually satisfied with these aftermarket kits, which use cheap Korean bulb and consistently burn out.
hey DS1784 i did a factory swap (halogen to xenon) i can PM the how-to also if you want i have 2 pairs of just only bulbs and ballasts original oem for you to use $250 for the set. let me know also if you want i can explain how to switch your high beam with your low beam with out any electrical problem.
Since we are on the subject i want to put some 3000k (yellow) HIDs in my fog lights does anyone know how difficult it is to change the bulbs in the fogs?

Im putting 4300k in my foglights this weekend. From what I seen i think you can remove the front tires and the plastic wheelwell. but if would like more room to play with you will defenatly have to remove the front bumper
Goodluck
hey you think you can take some pics and show what part of the inner fender i have to take out and what-not. its a new car and i still have the gitters to start taking it apart, also i would love to see some pics after its done is that bulb color going to match the factory headlights? good luck with the installation. i hope i get to see the results soon
