Re: Start Button Peeling?

I have a slight green light that goes down the middle of mine. I guess this is the beginning of it "peeling"?

It's not so noticeable except at night really and even then not too bad. I'm worried the new button is going to look out of place. Does anyone have a picture of what the new button looks like?

Thanks.

I had the same problem--it's cracking. Dealer replaced under warranty.

Re: Start Button Peeling?

It is only slightly different.
You probably wouldn't even notice.

Re: Start Button Peeling?

Is there a part number for the button itself or is is part of another assembly? I've got a car with a cracked button that I want to fix.

Re: Start Button Peeling?

The button is $38 plus shipping at gmpartsdirect.com There is a diagram on this site for the trim pieces that have to be removed to get to the button. Looks pretty easy.

Re: Start Button Peeling?

I've noticed my replacement switch is faster acting than my wife's original. When driving her car today, it seemed like I had to press & hold her switch to turn it off.

Re: Start Button Peeling?

Must be a common problem, and yet mine looks like it did when the car was new.
Strange for my family; normally our cars incur wear quicker than other peoples'.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.
