As usual the STS has many unsold new units On dealers lots. I just got a one week free subscription to Auto News. The numbers are as follows (IN DAYS SUPPLY):

with the new cts right around the corner look for these numbers to increase for the STS. even though the STS is renewed this year and in my opinion a much better (class) of car it is far to close in size and looks to compete with the cts due to its much higher price. a bonehead move on cadillacs part to make two cars look so much alike.

I'm in the market for a new Escalade EXT. I think if I hold out until next month I'll easily get one for $10K under MSRP.

EXT: My local small Cadillac dealer has 2 of them on his lot. $65K sticker. OUCH.... For a pickup truck? Ain't no way for this boy. Looks good but Cadillac needs to get rid of that concept. Too little of a market for a tricked-out truck IMHO. But good luck and I'd say more like $15K off sticker.

I agree 100% and said the same things years ago. Too much similarities and now that one can get 300HP in this "smaller" STS I'd agree that STS sales will be hurt once again. GM indeed has it's head up, well, you-know-where. But then again who's stupid enough to fork out sticker price of $45K for a six banger when one can get a loaded, low miles V-8 STS for much less than that? Used is the ONLY way to buy a great car, the STS.

exactly how i bought my current sts and will continue to purchase future cars. top of the line low mile and clean 1-2 year old cadillacs are a great buy in the used market. and as long as there is still 1-2 yrs worth of warrenty left you cannot go wrong. i would love to support GM and buy new but based on there value dropping as much as 60% after two yrs. i cannot see myself purchasing new.

Been doing that for 35 years. Never bought a new car except for company cars. I always buy used cars with 2 to 15k miles on them. Some of them are 4 years old when I buy them--and almost no miles on them.

Totally agree. Cadillacs are GREAT cars/trucks/SUV's but NOT new. Used yes.

Too many of those very expensive Escalades (11,500) on Cadillac lots. I wonder what the monthly floor plan payment is on a $65K unit?

GM must like the look of dealer parking lot's full of Cadillacs. Unfortunately, these cars need incentives to sell.
