Cleaning the Tuscany leather?
Is there anything special or that someone would recommend in cleaning the Tuscany leather? Is there a particular product that works best with the Tuscany?

Re: Cleaning the Tuscany leather?

According to the manual, use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a mild soap or saddle soap and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Let it dry naturally, no heat. It does say you can use leather cleaner. I have used Lexol with good results. Whatever you do don't use solvents, oils, abrasive cleaners or shoe polish.

Lexol is a product I like. You can usually find it at a horse/feed store.

Re: Cleaning the Tuscany leather?

Griot's Garage Interior Cleaner is amazing. I have the Cashmere Tuscan Leather interior. Spray it on and wipe it off. It cleans the leather, carpeting, and plastic surfaces. Quickly. www.griotsgarage.com or 800-345-5789.

Re: Cleaning the Tuscany leather?

As an ol' horsebacker, I
consider saddle soap a conditioner not a cleaner.

If you use saddle soap as a conditioner the sign of "soap" suds is an
indication that you're using too much water. Your leather will start
to feel tacky.
If you want a cleaner, I endorse previous suggestions to use Lexol
Leather Cleaner (orange container). Lexol makes a good condtioner
too (brown container).

The Zaino leather cleaner and polish are the best I have found. I have been using it for my Corvettes for years. My wife raved about it when she used it on leather furniture.

Lightbulb Re: Cleaning the Tuscany leather?

Aurora and mocts mentioned
Meguiar's leather wipes!

Lo and behold, those are the tissues I use for spot cleaning, but they're a
chore for any larger project: rub-a-dub-dub, rub-a-dub-dub...
They seem to leave a residue on the leather surface too. Besides
Lexol, I'd use a mild soap, like Woolite designed for delicate fabrics.
Heck, you can even use Woolite for washing your deerskin gloves!

Aurora Borealis AKA Northlites!

Will the saddle soap darken the leather

Wink Re: Cleaning the Tuscany leather?

Yikes and bejesus, mocts.

Now I know why I kept sliding off the seat. It's like trying to sit a saddle
when you're wearing polyester jeans.

As for mike sts who seems insistent on using saddle soap, it all depends
what kind of saddle soap you use. If you use a glycerin based product
you'll be safe. As a caveat, don't use a lot of water to work up a foam and
wipe the area treated immediately with a cotton terrycloth towel.

Leather, when it ages, will subtly change color. This is not a bad thing. If all goes right, we'll have the cleanest leather interiors this side of the showroom.
