I have an '05 STS and the center console around the shifter and cup holders gets very hot when driving for long periods of time (over an hour)?

Re: Hot Center Console

I noticed that too a couple of days ago. But, I didn't pay attention to how long you have to drive before it gets hot.

It really becomes noticable after about an hour.

Re: Hot Center Console

Check your rear ventilation controls and make sure they are not turned all the way to hot. The rear heat is channeled through the center console. When I shut this off it stayed cool.

Re: Hot Center Console

your rear heat is turned on. I too noticed that on a 700 mile trip. The whole console was almost to hot to touch

Re: Hot Center Console

Thanks for the info. I'll check the rear heat the next time I'm on a long trip.
