Yeah really upset seeing my first car in such a condition, I loved that car.
Anyone know how I would be able to notify the user "Fina11y" he messaged me about parts but his inbox seems to be full well, if you see this here is what I said

Found the COMMON ground we both had, It was the TIRES, I also had
Generals, all 4, I had Generals on my much earlier car, and back then ,
they had a VERY GOOD to Excellent reputation, Dual 90's etc.
My car slid out of control on a straight-away !
Dam Generals.....2 of them were LESS than 6 months old,
and I got insurance rebate for them.

I have the same tires as you in the AWD 18" setup.
I'd rate the Goodyear tripletred higher on snow and ice traction. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best for all season tires in snow I'd say the GY TT were a 9 or 9.5 and the Generals are a 7.5 now with close to 30k miles on them, last winter they were better in the snow probably an 8.5. But when I had a car with the GY TT it was my FWD 02 Deville DTS so it's hard to give it an apples to apples comparison. And if I put them up against real snow tires you could probably cut those numbers in half.
Girlfriend is getting some DWS put on tomorrow on her 2011 Sonata SE 18" the car currently has some really nasty tires on it Hancock brand (OEM Hyundai) that tire rack rates around a 2 or 3 in snow and ice.
