Cool 2010 SRX Alarm RED light on Dash

If you have the Alarm auto arm itself, how come the Red Light on the dash will not light? Is it suppose to light up when you set the Alarm?

Once you lock your doors, the light should illuminate steady and begin flashing after about 30 seconds. This means its armed. If you hit the lock on your fob twice (hear one horn beep), then the red light will begin to flash immediately. If it doesn't light, then there's either a problem with the bulb (unlikely) or your alarm needs servicing.

The only way I can get it to light so far is if I shut the car off and open the door and press the Lock Button on the console, it will flash, the doors will lock, then unlock and the horn beeps 2 times. I sure its because i'm still in the car. I thought the lock would work like the Escalade or DTS, you hit the lock button, close the door and the alarm sets. 2nd way is I exit the car, touch the lock area on the door handle, then the doors will lock and the light will flash.

Shouldn't the light flash if you have the alarm set in the DIC to auto arm, then when you exit the car the doors will lock and the horn will beep alarm is set? ( that's how I have it set).

It sounds like your alarm system is working OK!

I have the base so the premium may be a tad different.

I use the fob and not the console.

You're getting the beeps and light, so now you need to play with the settings and check the manual to adjust it to the way you like.

Good luck, and don't sweat it. It's the ride that's most important.

    Peace.
